Long Distance Moving Packages Starting @ $1899!
Moving to the suburbs, but not sure how many moving boxes you need for a 4 bedroom house? Check out our moving box guide to get your packing started.Get a rough estimate of how many boxes you need for your move based on the number of bedrooms and square footage.
You'll need a minimum of 36 boxes for a two-bedroom house. This includes 12 small, 18 medium, and 6 large boxes. You may need more depending on the size and contents of your home.
The first step is to inventory everything that you will be moving. Make a list of all the items in each room and estimate how many boxes it will take to pack them. Once you have an estimate, add 10-15% more boxes to your total to account for any unexpected items or items that won't fit into a box (such as lamps or other large items). This will give you a good estimate of how many boxes you will need to move.
You'll need a minimum of 54 boxes for a three-bedroom house. This includes 18 small, 27 medium, and 9 large boxes. You may need more depending on the size and contents of your home.
A 3.0 cubic foot box is best for lightweight items such as pillows, linens, and clothes.
A 4.5 cubic foot box is best for medium-weight items such as dishes, books, and toys.
A 6.0 cubic foot box is best for heavy items such as pots and pans, small appliances, and tools.
An extra-large box (9.0 cubic feet or larger) is best for very heavy items such as large appliances and pieces of furniture.
Keep in mind that you will need more boxes of a smaller size than of a larger size. For example, if you are packing up a 4-bedroom house, you will need more 3.0 cubic foot boxes than 6.0 cubic foot boxes.
In addition to the right size box, you will also need high-quality packing supplies such as bubble wrap, packing paper, and packing peanuts to protect your belongings during the move. Our team of professional movers can help you choose the right supplies for your move.
In addition to choosing the right size box and packing supplies, there are a few other factors to consider when packing for a move:
The type of items you are moving: Some items require special care when packing. For example, fragile items such as dishes and glassware need to be packed with extra care to avoid breakage.
The distance of the move: The farther you are moving, the more important it is to pack your belongings carefully. Long-distance moves are more likely to involve rough handling by movers, so it is important to take extra care when packing.
The time of year: The season can affect the type of packing supplies you need. For example, if you are moving in the summer, you will need to pack your belongings with care to avoid damage from heat and humidity.
